Watering
Watering doesn't have to be the chore it once was. There are lots of simple solutions to making sure your garden gets the hydration it needs. There are several different styled hose nozzles that give you the option to mist your plants or gently flood a planting bed. For comfort, these nozzles have insulation against hot and cold water temperatures and come with no slip soft grips with a trigger guard that helps to minimize accidental spray and damage when dropped. To keep your equipment nice, there is an array of recommended storage units to stow your hoses away.
Sprinklers have come a long way too. Different options allow you to focus a sprinkler in a very specific area and design upgrades created a product that doesn't let the water pool around the sprinkler itself. Always a plus! The ways in which these new units are designed allow you blanket an area to ensure that everywhere gets a healthy amount of water. There are even sprinklers that will walk the yard and water it for you.
Naturally you would have to be there to turn on your sprinkler, but not anymore. There are several different options to keep you inside away from the heat and still turn on the hose. You can use a remote control watering control or you can use a timer. Pre-set timers can be used while you're away on vacation to make sure your garden or lawn doesn't get too dry. A timer is also a great way to ensure that you have a consistent watering schedule.
In order to conserve water, try a rain barrel. They are easily installed under one a down spout and as much as 100 gallons can be stored in a single, large barrel to be used at a later date. With a screened top, insects are kept out while you help conserve our most under-rated resource. With a spigot on the bottom of the barrel, you can either attach a regular hose, a soaker hose, or fill up a watering can to disperse the water.
